These Terms of Service set out the rules for using QRSafe. Please read them carefully before creating an account. They explain what you can expect from us and what we expect from you.

Acceptance of Terms

By creating a QRSafe account, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, you must not use QRSafe.

What QRSafe Does

QRSafe provides a platform that enables customers to securely share their contact details with retailers via a personal QR code. The customer controls when and with whom their data is shared; each share requires an active, deliberate scan of the customer's QR code.

User Responsibilities

As a QRSafe user, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate and up-to-date personal information when registering and using the service
  • Keep your account credentials secure and not share them with others
  • Use QRSafe only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these terms
  • Not attempt to access, scrape, or interfere with any other user's data or account

Retailer Responsibilities

Retailers who receive customer contact data through QRSafe must:

  • Use the received data only for the stated purpose at the point of scan (e.g. sending an e-receipt or enrolling the customer in a loyalty programme)
  • Comply with all applicable data protection laws, including UK GDPR
  • Not share, sell, or transfer the received customer data to any third party
  • Delete customer data upon request and in accordance with applicable retention obligations

Acceptable Use

When using QRSafe, you must not:

  • Scrape, harvest, or automatically extract data from the platform
  • Use automated tools or bots to scan QR codes
  • Use QRSafe to collect customer data deceptively or without their knowledge
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, disassemble, or compromise the security of the platform

Intellectual Property

All QRSafe branding, software, code, design, and content is owned by QRSafe Ltd and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute any part of QRSafe without our prior written consent.

Limitation of Liability

QRSafe provides a technical platform for contact data sharing. To the fullest extent permitted by law, QRSafe Ltd is not liable for how retailers use data received through the platform beyond the technical controls we enforce. We encourage users to review the privacy practices of any retailer they interact with.

QRSafe Ltd shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.

Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any account that violates these Terms of Service, without prior notice. You may also delete your own account at any time from your profile settings.

Governing Law

These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
